A British woman has applied to be a legal guardian of a chimpanzee, so that she can protect its human rights. The women whose name is Paula has been a chimpanzee’s keeper for nine years now. She is fighting a case for which a businessman gave the chimpanzee $4000, and she would like the chimpanzee to keep the money. World famous British primate expert Jane Goodall is supporting Paula. Paula’s lawyers are saying that the chimpanzee is the same as a small child and should have rights and a guardian.
